【歌單】40首1990年R&B金曲

1990年有超過350首R&B歌曲打入告示牌相關排行榜，在10月20日「Hot Black Singles」正式改名成「Hot R&B Singles」。以下是1990年的兩大重點：

1. 主要由四個製作團隊主宰樂壇，有傑米詹與泰瑞路易斯（Jimmy Jam & Terry Lewis）、娃娃臉與雷德（Babyface and L.A. Reid）、傑斯畢與奈爾利胡柏（Jazzie B and Nellee Hooper）及丹佐佛斯特與湯瑪斯麥可艾勞伊（Denzil Foster and Thomas McElroy）。另外還有行蹤低調的Dr. Freeze與New Jack Swing風潮幕後推手泰迪瑞利（Teddy Riley）。


2. 許多剛出道及單飛的歌手與團體成績亮眼，像是風尚合唱團( En Vogue ) 、靈魂靈魂合唱團（Soul II Soul）女主唱卡倫惠勒（Caron Wheeler）、Donny Hathaway女兒萊拉海瑟薇（Lalah Hathaway），當然不能忘記現仍活躍的天后瑪麗亞凱莉（Mariah Carey）。
